However, it may not always be feasible to buy new furniture – especially if you’re looking to replace a gray sectional sofa. Remove the tissue section and set the pieces aside. Do not dispose of parts, because they will be used as a pattern to cut new pieces of fabric you will need. Place the new tissue on a large flat surface and pin the pieces of existing upholstery on it with sewing pins. Cut the new pieces with a pair of sharp scissors.

Pin the pieces in place on the section where the old pieces were removed. Remove the existing fabric of the seat cushions and use a seam ripper to remove the existing racks. Measure and cut enough fabric to cover the front and back of the cushions. If the old pads were a little loose, wrap the foam batting before inserting them into the new sliding covers. Replace the gray sectional sofa cushions.
