Recycled plastic outdoor furniture – Cleaning plastic furniture is not difficult. However, plastic is porous, so just wipe it with a damp sponge and mild detergent will not necessarily get it really clean. White patio furniture may have a mild bleach solution to keep the sparkling white.

Fill the bucket with hot water and detergent. If cleaning garden furniture, car shampoo, detergent or any general purpose cleaners will work. Add about a quarter cup of bleach to the washing of the recycled plastic outdoor furniture is white or moldy. Use latex gloves when you use any bleach because chlorine can be very irritating to the skin.
Turn down, if possible, the furniture up the side. The grime and mold accumulate on the bottom as well. As long as you take the time to really wash your furniture, might as well get all the bottom spots. Wash and rinse the bottom then turn the furniture right side up and wash the side last. Scrub the furniture thoroughly with fungus. Use a toothbrush to get into some nooks and crannies. If the furniture is older or very cheap, soft plastic, do not use scrub side of the sponge if you do not really need to remove a stubborn stain. It may scratch the surface.
Rinse the recycled plastic outdoor furniture completely. If this can be done outside with a garden hose, the better. Wipe with a soft cloth to prevent water spots. Finish with a coat of car wax to a water repellent gloss. Just follow the instructions for waxing a car and make extra sure to polish it smooth and dry before use.
