Contemporary rocking chair – The renovation of an outdated rocker 1970 is a project that is worth it, especially if the chair is in good shape and is made of high quality wood. You have several options when it comes to remake more rocking – you can restore its original shine or be upgraded to fit with a more contemporary decor. The style of your home and other furniture probably dictate this choice.

Wood Contemporary Rocking Chair

Cover the floor of a work area well ventilated and paper or plastic sheets and secured to the floor with masking tape. Move the chair to the work area and make sure you have enough room to work safely and efficiently if you are working in a multi-use space such as a garage. Pele original wood finish with a lacquer or varnish remover and clean rags, working even strokes in small areas until the wood is completely naked.  Sand the contemporary rocking chair with 120-150 sandpaper to make sure you have a flat surface. Do not use heavier sandpaper. It can damage wood or weaken the structure of the chair.
